My First Mini Haul!

IMG_6745

I’ve always loved watching videos of peoples hauls and now I’m super excited to be doing my own little post of one! These are just a few new products I wanted to try. Most of my purchases were skincare products but there’s a few other things too. I haven’t tried most of this stuff as of yet but the things I have tried I’ll leave a little first impression on.

I couldn’t find some of the products online so you may find that a few won’t be linked!

So the place I visited is one of my favourite drug stores, Superdrug! I love getting a lot of my beauty products from here because they offer a great range of brands and products at the best prices in my opinion. I’m also a big fan of the brands own beauty products, especially their skincare line which is all cruelty-free!

My first purchase was the Superdrug Calm Skin Overnight Mask (£2.99). I’ve always wanted to try a mask that you leave on overnight and this one contains Hyaluronic Acid which is good for my skin as I am prone to breakouts.

I love my detangling hair brushes but I am yet to own one with an actual handle! So finally I purchased this Superdrug Detangling Shower Hair Brush (£2.99) that comes with a hook on the end to hang up in the shower. If you don’t own a detangling brush as of yet I highly recommend trying one, especially if you have hair like me that’s always in knots! These are also great hair brushes for children as it gently detangles without pulling on the hair as much as a regular brush would.

First Impression: I wouldn’t say it’s as good as my Tangle Teezer but it’s a good runner up at a much lower price (Tangle Teezer is £10.99) and it’s definitely still better than using an ordinary brush! I’m just glad it has a handle so I’ll be using this daily whereas I’ll go back to my Tangle Teezer when my knots are at their worst!

Some Superdrug Hair Grips (£1.49), pretty self explanatory right?

I’ve had a lot more blackheads than usual lately around my nose area so I though I’d pick these strips up, can’t say I’ve found strips that work really well on my blackheads yet but hopefully these will be the exception! (Sadly I couldn’t find these on their website to put the link in!).

These babies were on sale down to just 25p! I probably have about 10 hand creams but I’m a sucker for a good deal and I couldn’t resist!

First Impression: My hands definitely felt soft but that lasted for about 10 minutes and they would just go back to normal again. So if you’re hands are normally soft and you like to use hand cream these would be ideal but if you do have very dry hands this may not be the best product for you.

Another sale buy! I bought these two for 29p each. I love the flutter line, the packaging is super quirky and they make really cute gifts! as you can see these were on sale as they were out for Christmas but I’m not sure if that includes the whole flutter collection or not.

For the past few weeks I’ve been using the Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Oil on my face and I’ve seen a big improvement on my skin, nothing life changing but definitely a big improvement. So when I seen all of the vitamin E range by Superdrug, I knew I had to get my hands on a few of the products!

IMG_6751

First thing I picked out was the Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Wipes (£2.99). Now, my skin is very picky when it comes to wipes, the only ones that seemed to work fine for me were the Tesco Brand wipes, any others would normally break me out but I decided to give these ones a chance as I’ve never tried out ones with vitamin E, so fingers crossed!

Next I bought the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist (£2.99). The only time I can really use the oil on my face is at night, in the day I often wear makeup or I’m usually out so I don’t want to be walking around with an oily looking face ideally, whereas this product doesn’t leave that oily or greasy feel at all. So if this has the same or similar effects the oil has on my skin it would be a perfect product to use under my makeup and to use throughout the day.

The final product I bought from the vitamin E range was the Dual Phase Cleansing Oil (£2.99). In my skincare routine I’ve been double cleansing, using an oil to remove makeup followed by a water-based cleanser to wash my face. I’ve had no faults with the cleansing oil I’m currently using but I was interested to know if this one would be any better for me so I decided to purchase it to see how it compares.

So I contacted Garnier recently because I was on the hunt for an old favourite product of mine which was this cocoa butter lotion they did. Sadly it had been discontinued but they recommended I try this Intensive 7 Days Ultra-replenishing Lotion with Shea Butter instead (£2.59, was £5.25). This product, like the previous is for ‘Very dry skin’ whereas my skin is more on the normal/oily side but the ingredient Shea Butter has a comedogenic rating of 0 which means it won’t clog up your pores, so it will be perfectly fine for an oily skin type.

Find out more about the different oils for different skin types on my other post here.

First Impression: It’s almost a double to the one I used to like, even down to the amazing smell! It’s nice and light, and does an amazing job of moisturizing the skin.

I’m a big fan of beauty sponges so when I seen the B. Sculpt Effect Brush (£5.99) with a flat top I was definitely curious. It has tiny little hair filaments on the flat top which is meant to be used in circular movements, I may do a review on this soon to let you know how it performs!

So I made a quick final stop at Boots! and I’ve always been on the fence about buying the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask for a while as it was a little out of my price range but then I ran into this beauty! This is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Targeted Acne Spot Treatment (£19.99, was £29.99). I don’t have severe acne but on parts of my face I am prone  to breakouts so this was the ideal purchase for me and I was intrigued to try the light therapy method! I’ll be testing this out over the next few weeks and update you all on the progress!

So that is it for now! I’ll be updating you on whether on not these products were worth the money or not soon when I’ve given them a fair go!

If you enjoyed this post please let me know and I’ll do another bigger one! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and whether you’ve liked them or not and any other products you’d recommend! Also if you’ve posted a haul of your own please link in the comments and I’d love to check it out!

I also love checking out Superdrug’s skincare. I like their Simply Pure Hydrating serum and Calm Skin moisturiser, as they’re basic staples that are no fuss for me. Also super cheap at £3. X
